## Create a round

Company cap table → New event → Add investment round

1. Choose the financing stage.
2. Set the start date and currency.
3. Save, then add the contracts that belong to the round.
4. Open the round's Edit action afterward to give it a name, and use its Valuation action to add a round valuation when the same valuation should apply to its contracts.

## Edit or delete

Open the round action menu. Company editors can rename a round, change its stage or date while eligible, and delete it, but only while it has no contracts and no option pools attached. A round that already has issued shares cannot be deleted this way.

Removing the recorded issuance history of a round that already has issued shares is a separate, more destructive action: erasing issuances. Its required access depends on the round type—ordinary investment rounds require Company administrator access, while eligible split or rounding rounds can be handled by editors. See the dedicated article before using it.

## Before changing a date

Round dates affect ordering and valuation history. When a round has issuances, the date is locked to protect the recorded sequence of equity events.

## Verify the round structure

Confirm that every included contract belongs to the same financing event and that round totals reconcile to its investors and instruments. Review valuation inheritance, currencies, effective dates, and any contract-specific override before issuance.

## When to create another round

Use a separate round when the financing event, effective date, stage, or shared valuation basis is materially different. Do not combine unrelated events only to simplify the display, and do not create a replacement round to bypass protected issued history.
