Why Eqdeal locks a company

Eqdeal briefly blocks one specific group of actions—issuing shares or reserves, erasing issuances, secondary transactions, debt or interest conversions, and stock-option lifecycle events such as pause, resume, exercise, end, and accelerate—while any one of them is already recalculating that company. This prevents two recalculations from overlapping and producing inconsistent ownership results. Routine changes such as editing company details, documents, groups, or contract terms before validation are not affected.

What to do

  1. Do not retry the same action repeatedly or start a competing change.
  2. Allow the running action to finish, then refresh the company page.
  3. Review the round and cap table to confirm the final state.
  4. If the lock remains unexpectedly, contact support with the company and round names.
Do not work around the lock

The lock protects cap-table integrity. Bypassing it through another interface or integration can create conflicting operations.

Distinguish a lock from missing access

A workflow lock affects only the recalculation-triggering actions above, all at once, and is tied to one of them already running—not necessarily an issuance specifically. A permission restriction can affect only your user or one action, regardless of whether anything is processing. Confirm the active company, your role, and the round or transaction status before deciding which problem you have.

Information support will need

Provide the company name, affected round or transaction, action that started processing, approximate start time, and the current visible status. Do not start another recalculating action, erase records, or share credentials while the lock is reviewed.
