What not to do
Do not delete related identities, rewrite unrelated rounds, or create an offsetting transaction merely to hide the error. Do not trigger the destructive issuance-erasure action until its affected round and every subsequent event have been reviewed.
Controlled correction process
- Stop additional issuances, transfers, and conversions involving the affected position.
- Record the company, round, contract, issuance date, stakeholder, class, expected value, and recorded value.
- Preserve the executed documents and the incorrect issuance evidence.
- Obtain the required company, legal, and accounting review for the corrective action.
- If the controlled UX issuance-erasure action is appropriate, review its dedicated warning and scope before confirming.
- Contact Eqdeal support when the supported correction path is unclear or unavailable.
- After correction, reconcile the cap table and downstream portfolio records.
A correction must preserve an understandable audit trail. Concealing the original event is not a valid correction.
Verify the corrected result
Compare the corrected event and every later event with the approved source documents. Reconcile company totals, classes, stakeholder positions, conversions, transfers, and investor views. Keep the correction evidence with the company records and document who reviewed the final representation.
