Choose the investor type
An individual profile represents a natural person. An institutional profile represents an investment company or other organization and may require company information and representatives.
Complete onboarding
- Choose individual or institutional investor.
- Search for an existing identity before creating a new record.
- Enter the requested identity, address, domain, and representative information.
- Request access if the institutional investor already exists.
- Confirm the profile and open Investments.
Creating an investor profile does not create an investment. Contracts and issued positions determine what appears in the portfolio.
Avoid a duplicate investor
Search using the investor’s legal name, identifying information, company domain, and known representatives. If an institutional profile already exists, request access rather than creating a second organization with a shortened or translated name.
Verify the completed profile
Open Investments and confirm the displayed investor identity and type. For an institution, verify its representatives and the vehicle you intend to use. If expected portfolio companies are missing, inspect the supporting contracts and stakeholder identity before adding anything manually.
