Step-by-step guide

Create and maintain KPIs

Define indicators, units, accumulation behavior, goals, and reporting periods.

Before you create an indicator

Agree on the business definition, owner, unit, reporting frequency, and whether values represent a period or a cumulative total. Two indicators with similar names but different definitions should remain separate.

Managed Companies → Select company → Investor Relations → Indicators

Create the KPI

  1. Choose an existing Eqdeal indicator when its definition matches the intended metric; otherwise create a custom indicator with an unambiguous name.
  2. Select the value type and unit. Money, percentage, integer, and decimal values are interpreted differently.
  3. Set whether the KPI is cumulative. Use cumulative only when later periods incorporate earlier activity.
  4. Add the available historical observations using their actual periods and currencies.
  5. Add goals only when the target period, value, and responsibility are clear.

Verify the result

  • The chart follows the expected direction and scale.
  • Periods do not overlap or appear under the wrong year.
  • Currency and units are consistent across observations.
  • Cumulative statistics do not treat periodic values as running totals.

When the definition changes

Do not silently reinterpret historical data. Record the new definition, preserve the old evidence, and decide whether a new KPI is required. Reports already published may preserve historical snapshots even after current data changes.
